The American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) announced March 3, 2008 that it recognized Joan Kolodzik, MD, FACEP, Director of Education/EMS at Premier Health Care Services, Inc., as a “Hero of Emergency Medicine.” The American College of Emergency Physicians launched the “Heroes of Emergency Medicine” campaign at the beginning of this year as part of its 40th anniversary celebration in 2008. As Director of Education and EMS for Premier, she coordinates the annual CME programs and activities offered for approximately 600 practitioners corporate-wide. In the last two years, through EMS Week educational CD’s, she has facilitated the distribution and awarding of more than 2,400 credit hours of continuing education to EMS providers and squads throughout the state of Ohio.
“I am honored to be recognized by my colleagues at Premier in this way,” says Joan Kolodzik, MD. “I am delighted to share the spotlight with many esteemed leaders in Emergency Medicine, many of whom have served as my mentors.”
