2009 ENA Sponsorship Winners Selected

March 1, 2009

ENA SOAR ImageThis year’s 2009 ENA Leadership Conference is designed to give knowledge and networking opportunities to emergency nursing leaders from all over the country. Our six exemplary ED nursing leaders that have been awarded the Premier ENA scholarship will benefit from the most up-to-date information and latest developments to further their professional development in emergency nursing while earning up to 14 CEU’s. They will be surrounded by emergency nurses who can help solve the challenges they face as they lead their emergency departments. There will be wonderful opportunities for everyone to exchange personal experiences, ideas, and issues with their fellow nursing colleagues from across the United States and around the world. It is a great time to make new friends with those who share the same passion and commitment to emergency nursing that will last far beyond this conference.

The Grand Sierra Resort and Casino in Reno, Nevada will be the host for this year's exciting conference from March 4-8th. Close to Lake Tahoe and a few hours from San Francisco, Reno provides a wonderful setting for cutting edge education in emergency nursing.

The scholarships were awarded to our nursing leaders based on nominations from their Medical Directors and/or Assistant Medical Directors for their outstanding work and dedication to the field of emergency nursing. These professionals work closely with our providers to provide safe care for all the patients that are treated.

Each scholarship includes airfare, lodging and registration for the conference. Those who have been awarded and will be attending are:

  • Peggy Doyle, RN, MSN
Director of Emergency at Atrium Medical Center in Middletown, Ohio
  • Jolene Henning, RN
Director of the Chest Pain Center at Alegent Mercy in Council Bluffs, Iowa
  • Tiffany Hollar, RN
Director of Emergency at Fayette County Memorial in Washington Court House, Ohio
  • Deb Parsons, RN
Director of Emergency at St. Mary’s Hospital in Huntington West Virginia
  • Linda Maurer, RN
Director of Critical Care and Emergency at Wilson Memorial in Sidney, Ohio
  • Tracy Richmond, RN
Director of Emergency at Coshocton County Memorial Hospital in Coshocton, Ohio

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the Premier physicians who support the Premier Scholarship Program and to those Medical Directors and Assistant Medical Directors who took time to write such wonderful nominations for their nursing leadership. I know those who have been chosen are extremely excited to be given this opportunity to attend their professional conference. They will all experience the best in emergency nursing leadership and management at ENA Leadership Conference 2009.
