Premier remembers physician employee Dave Toth

Dr. David Toth, co-worker, friend, father, and husband, passed away at his home on February 26th. For those who knew Dave, his life was rich with family, friends, and the many interests and hobbies in which he participated.

Born and educated in Canada, Dave graduated from the University of Western Ontario Medical School and practiced Family Medicine. He moved to the US in 1993 and began his career in Emergency Medicine.

Dave joined Premier in 1997. During his career with Premier, he worked at Lima Memorial Hospital in Lima, OH as a staff physician and was promoted to Assistant Medical Director there. In 2002 he joined the ED staff at St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima, Ohio, where he worked up until the time of his illness.

In addition to his membership in organizations such as the American College of Emergency Physicians and College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario, he was President of the Regional Physicians Advisory Board of EMS. He served as Medical Director for Ada, Bath, and Spencerville EMS in Ohio.

Dave enjoyed flying in his spare time—he was a private pilot for 30 years. He was an amateur astronomer whose love of the stars allowed him to travel for NASA on a couple of occasions. Dave was also a HAM radio operator since the 1970’s. Time permitting, he managed to get in a round of golf on occasion and do some winter skiing when he could.

Ronda Nartker, Dave’s wife and also a Premier employee, was his constant companion over the years. He will be missed.
