Premier designated Gold Level Fit Friendly Company

Premier Health Care Services, together with MBI Solutions, has been awarded Gold Level recognition from the American Heart Association as a 2010 Start! Fit Friendly Company. We are honored to be one of only seven companies in the Miami Valley that has demonstrated commitment to promoting wellness in the workplace and earning this recognition.
Awarded once per year, the Gold Level recognition honors companies that have fulfilled criteria such as offering employees tips on good nutrition, exercise support, increasing healthy eating options at work, and promoting a wellness culture. Additional requirements included implementing at least six of the physical activities, two of the nutrition activities, and one of the culture activities listed on the Start! application form.
Worksite wellness programs are a proven strategy to prevent the major risk factors for cardiovascular disease, according to a policy statement in Circulation: Journal of the American Heart Association. Adult Americans spend most of their waking hours at work. Sadly, many of those hours are spent sitting at a desk. This makes them vulnerable to health risks associated with inactive lifestyles. Wellness programs that promote a culture of activity help increase worker productivity, reduce absenteeism, lower turnover rates and reduce healthcare costs. Besides benefiting companies, a healthier workplace helps employees live healthier, longer lives.
The Fit Friendly award from the American Heart Association recognizes employers who go above and beyond when it comes to their employees’ health and rewards companies for their progressive leadership and highlights their concern for their employees. Promoting walking programs, online newsletters, and online tracking tools that help motivate employees are all important to a successful wellness program.
