Premier Health Care Services would like to announce that the Clinical Excellence Recognition Program (CERP) has been renamed the Jana Banks Award for Clinical Excellence, in honor of Jana Banks who was the first grand prize recipient and who passed away from a long fight with cancer on March 5, 2009.
The program highlights Premier Health Care Services health care providers (Physicians, Physician Assistants, and Nurse Practitioners) who have been recognized as having provided excellent clinical care in a specific Emergency Department encounter. Winners have their story told in an overview with the patient’s medical situation described and highlighted, along with the impact that the Premier clinician’s care had on the outcome of that patient.
Jana Banks was an excellent ED physician and humanitarian, and we are honored to have this award named in her memory. Dr. Banks demonstrated the standard that reflects the true vision and purpose of Premier Health Care Services—providing exceptional clinical care on a daily basis resulting in life-changing and life-saving events in the lives of our patients.
Do you know someone with a great ED story? Nominations for this award may be submitted by anyone. You can download the forms from the Premier Intranet and submit them to your ED Medical Director. We will be taking nominations throughout the year, and winners will be selected by a committee composed of the Chief Development Officer, Chief Executive Officer, and Chairperson of the Clinical Services Committee.
Each Jana Banks Award for Clinical Excellence winner receives a $100 gas card, and the committee will choose an annual grand prize winner who will receive $1000. In addition, the picture of the practitioner will be posted on a Premier Health Care Services Clinical Excellence Wall of Fame in the Premier corporate offices. The winners will also receive recognition at the annual Premier Health Care Services’ Holiday Dinner.
