Premier Consults with CA Hospital

Fairchild Medical Center (FMC), located at the foot of Mt. Shasta in beautiful Yreka, California, contracted with Premier Health Care Services to provide consulting services in several areas of clinical operations and billing for their Emergency Department. John Lyman, MD, FACEP, and Linda Dinkel, RN, MSN, visited the facility in Northern California to meet with the executive leadership team and perform the consultation.

The consulting team’s approach was to meet with various members of FMC, primary care providers, board members, and emergency staff to gathering information and survey numerous operational areas to collect data. We also spent time in the Emergency Department observing the emergency staff provide direct patient care and their customer service approach. Brenda Brown conducted a very thorough, in-depth billing audit to add to the information gathered. And Kathy Heizer put an excellent marketing concept together to show FMC an economical way to market their facility.

All the data collected was compiled along with recommendations from the consulting team members, as well as other Premier staff, and was presented to Fairchild Medical Center Executive leadership team via a Webinar on July 14, 2009. FMC was extremely impressed with the quality of the information and recommendations we provided to them. With the success of this consultation, we hope there will be more opportunities to provide consultations to other healthcare systems.
