You interviewed with Premier but initially went elsewhere. Why?
“Initially I decided to go with a fee-for-service group because it was more attractive, but it ended up being disappointing.”
When did you join Premier?
“I joined Premier in January 2004, starting at Fort Hamilton Hospital. I later transferred to Middletown Regional Hospital (now the new Atrium Medical Center). Premier has been the ED physician group at the hospital since 2002.”
What were some of the factors behind your decision to join Premier?
“I was looking for a democratic group with a superior financial package, including performance-based and RVU incentive bonuses. The additional benefits plus yearly CME made Premier’s package very competitive. It’s been several years now, and I’m still very happy with my decision to join Premier.”
What is it about Premier that sets us apart from other physician groups?
“The democratic model is most important to me. I like having a voice in the direction of my career and the future of the company I work for. I respect the leaders of Premier; in addition to their leadership roles, they work side-by-side in the ED with physicians like me.
The benefits package is great, plus I have the opportunity to participate in additional benefits, such as competitive first-year compensation packages, Shareholder Status within one year, pension, family medical plan, paid CME, paid malpractice, and leadership development & growth opportunities.”
How has Premier supported you in having more time to enjoy your lifestyle and not just focus on your career?
“The support I receive from the corporate office and the scheduling team enables me to enjoy my career and lifestyle.”
