You are a founding father of Premier. What was appealing about the idea of starting Premier?

“We wanted to realize our ideal of excellent patient care – we thought if those patients coming in from outlying facilities were stabilized like we would do it, we would have better outcomes.”

You left Premier for personal reasons in 1998, why did you come back in 2002?

“I came back because I helped start the company, and I wanted to care for patients in my style. It didn’t take long for me to realize that the grass was greener here. No one else has the Premier philosophy.”

What were the top 3 reasons you came back to Premier?

“Premier has a philosophy of caring. They offer challenging work, and I get great personal satisfaction out of being a part of this company. Premier is people caring for people – it’s just outstanding.”

What do you consider to be Premier’s most valuable attributes?

“Premier is a democratic group. They work to maintain a personnel- and patient-friendly attitude while offering state of the art emergency medical care, Risk Management, and quality beyond any other group.”

What is it about Premier that sets it apart from other physician groups?

“I feel that after being involved with Premier for as many years as I have, Premier physicians have an internal philosophy about taking care of employees that’s different from other groups. We stress quality of life, and we stress trying to keep you at home as much as possible and still have a good job and a good income, so you can afford to be home with your family when you want to be.”

How has Premier helped you in the advancement of your career?

“With Premier, you know you are always supported in your practice. The next year, after returning, I was promoted to ED Medical Director, and then to Regional ED Director for the Greater Omaha area.”

What about Premier has impressed you most over the years?

“Premier has always been a friendly, down-to-earth place to work. I wouldn’t have it any other way.”
