What factors made you decide to work in Emergency Medicine for Premier, rather than Family Practice?

I was tired of dealing with insurance companies. I just wanted to take care of patients. I also wanted to spend more time with my family. Also, I was impressed with the leadership of the group. And I can say that after 15 years with Premier, my impression was correct and we continue to have an outstanding group of physicians leading us.

How did Premier help you with the transition from a Family Medicine setting to an Emergency Medicine setting?

There has always been tremendous support from Premier to make sure all of the doctors have the knowledge necessary to function in an Emergency Medicine situation. I am surrounded by a group of physicians who are willing to help each other provide a high level of care. That help is only a phone call away.

What do you like best about working in an Emergency Department managed by Premier?

When I mention to someone that I work for Premier, if they know anything about Emergency Medicine, they are impressed. A few years ago, Joint Commission came to do their inspection of the hospital where I work. When they came to the ED, they asked what group staffed the department. I answered that Premier did. The inspector’s response was that if Premier was in charge, he was confident everything was being done correctly.

Would you encourage other Family Medicine doctors to work for Premier in Emergency Medicine?

If someone is interested in working in an exciting environment, working with an outstanding group of doctors who truly care about each other and are committed to provide quality medical care without the hassles of private practice, then Premier is the answer.
