As a resident looking to begin a rewarding career in emergency medicine, what did Premier offer that attracted you?
I was impressed with Premier’s whole package. It would have been hard to say no to a group that offered a good salary, vacation time, medical benefits, a generous stipend for CME, and colleagues that are friendly and happy. More than that though, I had only heard good things about Premier. I felt the size was right—not too small where you have to work more than you want and not too big where you get lost in a group. My work environment is great! I love the people I work with and the team attitude.
What sets Premier apart from other physician groups?
Premier is unique in that it is a group that really seems to care. I feel appreciated. I feel like a part of the group rather than just a doc working for the group. Also, the CEO isn’t just someone you hear about, he is someone you can see and talk to if needed.
How did you first hear about Premier?
I heard about Premier from a friend who worked for them. He had been with the group for several years and was very happy. Interestingly, I also heard about Premier from a physician I didn’t even know. My mother was at an Emergency Department in a different part of Ohio, and she can’t help but tell everyone that her baby is a doctor. When the treating physician found out I was in Emergency Medicine, he told her that I couldn’t go wrong with Premier.
What is the best advice you can give to other Emergency Medicine residents?
When I was deciding where to work, someone told me that out of money, location, and the job that I would have to pick only 2 of the 3, and to choose wisely. With Premier, I feel like I got all three.
Premier is a great group, and I think any resident would be making the right decision to join such an outstanding company.
